The "Live from California" segment will run for two weeks in late-January through early February 2026. Each program will highlight what makes California the Ultimate Playground and inspire listeners to plan a visit in 2026.
Topics will be curated by VCA Japan and J-Wave to cover such topics as Route 66, iconic California road trips, sports—especially the FIFA World Cup and baseball, California wine and culinary experiences, and pop culture trends. Each segment will feature an interview with an expert on the topic.
Partners have the opportunity to sponsor a program and be interviewed for segments that match their destination. United Airlines and Visit California will promote their United California Road Trips campaign set to launch in December 2025 spotlighting influencer visits to Greater Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Solvang/Santa Ynez Valley and San Francisco.
J-Wave's core listening demographic is made up of 63% of listeners aged 40-50s (Older Millennials and Gen X; 30% are high-income earners; 61% male/39% female) who listen primarily at work. Programs will be downloadable on Radiko, the Japanese app for recorded radio programs and podcasts.
The market profile report contains three sections:
